Abbott Props Make Prime Time on Big Bang Theory

Last November an order came in from “The Big Bang Theory” for several magic props including an Abbott Classic Square Circle. The episode that features the prop(s), entitled “The Shiny Trinkets Maneuver” will air this upcoming Thursday at 8pm EST on CBS. Greg Bordner of Abbott Magic says “I had no idea when the show might air. I only found out with the rest of America when the CBS preview was shown” (Greg says he was already a fan of the show long before selling anything to the series).

For those who don’t know about The Big Bang Theory it is a show about 4 brainy but nerdy guys who’s social lives change when a pretty blond moves into the apartment next to two of the guys (Sheldon and Leonard). The show is one of the highest rated prime time comedies in the world and is now in its 5th season. Jim Parsons (who plays Sheldon Cooper, a theoretical physicist in the show) has won two Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe for his role.

Several of the characters have hobbies that pop up from time to time including model trains, comic books, and (of course), MAGIC! This is not the first time magic has been on the show and on past “magic” episodes the magic effect sometimes have different results than the performer (usually the Howard character) anticipates, however this will be the first time a standard Abbott prop has been on the show.

I think its cool that when one of the top shows on television needs a magic trick they come to the Magic Capital, Colon MI, to get it.

  2. Mary says:

I’ll be sure to watch on Thursday.

  3. Kerry Manderfield says:

The Abbott Square Circle was the best looking trick on the show and I think the only one that ended well with Howard. Looks like the Magic Capital has done it again! Great episode of Big Bang Theory too.
