Colon Township Board Meeting

Meeting called to order at 7:00 PM

Pledge of Allegiance

Roll Call:

Present: Jackson, McKelvey, Smigla, Zimmerman, Miller

Absent: None

 

The agenda was amended to:

  1. Sandi Jackson under new business

 

Without objection the minutes of the 10/25/11 regular meeting were approved.

Without objection the bills were approved in the amount of $28,082.49

 

Zoning Administrator Report – 2 zoning permits issued; 2 electrical permits issued; 1 plumbing permit issued.  Cornerstone now has 15 municipalities and is in negotiations with Branch County.  There will be a rate increase on January 1.

 

Attorney Thornton Report – citation was issued on Candace Smith; Appleton was given an extension and court appointed attorneys; there will be a hearing in January.

 

Supervisors Report – The property from Burr Oak Road to the beach has been cleaned up.

 

Fireboard Report was given by Dan Smigla.

 

Under old business:

  1. Jackson reported an ad had been put in the paper on the property in Magic City Mobile Home Park and as of this date only 1 bid had been received.
  2. The budget amendments were tabled until the December meeting.

 

Under new business:

  1. McKelvey made the following board appointments:
    1. Planning Commission – Cerny and Albright.  Motion by Jackson, second by Miller – all ayes.
    2. ZBA – Jackson, Valek, Albright.  Motion by Smigla, second by Miller – all ayes.
    3. Fireboard – Jackson and Smigla.  Motion by Miller, second by Zimmerman – all ayes.
    4. Jackson will be getting 2 bids for new carpeting for the building.
    5. $100 will be spent for new Zoning Ordinance books.
    6. McKelvey to check on someone to trim shrubs in front of the building.

 

PUBLIC COMMENT-None

 

Motion to adjourn by Miller, second by Smigla.  Meeting adjourned at 7:24 p.m.
