Wow, the shop really looks great! The old paint has been steamed off with high pressure hoses, concrete patching work is done where needed, and then the entire front has been painted including the skeletons which have become so associated with Abbott’s. Why skeletons? The legend is that almost 80 years ago when Percy and Recil were opening up shop during the depression years, the hardware store had extra black and white paint it let them have and thus they decided to paint the shop black with white skeletons dancing around.
Greg Bordner, owner of Abbotts, was hoping to have the carpeting redone inside as well but simply ran out of time as magic week came up fast on the busy magic shop.
